TOP OLYMPIC RIDERS TO COMPETE AT MORVEN PARK SPRING HORSE TRIALS IN MARCH
LEESBURG, VIRGINIA (March 7, 2003) Members of the United States
Equestrian Team (USET) and other top riders and equine athletes will
compete in three disciplines over two demanding days at the Morven Park
Equestrian Center in Leesburg during the Morven Park Intermediate and
Advanced Horse Trials March 29-30, 2003. The competition includes
Dressage, Stadium Jumping and Cross-Country jumping. Admission to the
event is free.
Among the elite competitors who will be participating in the Spring
Horse Trials at Morven Park are USA Equestrian (USAE) 2002 Member of
Honor award-winner and World Equestrian Games (WEG) Gold-Medal team
member David O'Connor and WEG teammate John Williams. 2002 US Eventing
Association (USEA) Riders of the Year Phillip Dutton, Bruce Davidson and
Bruce Davidson, Jr. and USEA 2002 Lady Riders of Year Kimberly Severson
and Karen O'Connor will also be competing.
Morven Park is the 1,200-acre historic landmark estate of Virginia
Governor Westmoreland Davis (1918-1922) in Loudoun County, Virginia.
The estate includes the historic Governor's Mansion, the Museum of
Hounds and Hunting, the Winmill Carriage Collection, and the Morven Park
Equestrian Center.
The Morven Park Equestrian Center is located just north of Leesburg on
Route 15. From Leesburg, take Route 15 North towards Frederick,
Maryland. Turn left onto Tutt Lane/Route 740. Follow Tutt Lane
approximately one mile to the center's entrance on the left, and then
follow the signs to the designated parking areas. For more information
