Sales Manager – Morven Park Marketing & Development Office Full-time (exempt position), Reports to the Director of Advancement, Start date: Immediate

 

Responsibilities include:

Sales (Sponsorship, advertising, onsite events and weddings)

  • Prospecting for new business leads, using on-line and creative search techniques;
  • Contacting potential clients (sponsors, corporations and professional wedding coordinators) to initiate the selling process;
  • Calling or visiting potential clients to discuss sponsorship opportunities and to solicit and secure sales commitments;
  • Examining competitive properties’ sponsorship and event packages to compare sponsors and sponsorship offerings and develop new business leads;
  • Developing detailed sales proposals using research, video and photography and adjusting content of sales presentations by studying the client’s needs and objectives;
  • Designing sponsorship activation packages utilizing creativity and the available onsite inventory, events, digital and print media offerings;
  • Designing onsite client events and promotions that will garner attention for sponsors at events;
  • Meeting with wedding clients to secure contracts and dates;
  • Maintain timely and accurate computerized records of all sales efforts and results;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Sponsorship Activation and Fulfillment

  • Submit internal work orders to coordinate labor for sign and display installation, electrical needs, photography, floral arrangements, food and beverage service;
  • Coordinate with marketing team for social and web sponsorship content, photography and video to document sponsorship;
  • Work closely with event coordinator to ensure that all preparations have been made, and to assist in the resolution of any problems that arise.

Sponsorship Recap & Results Reporting, which involves:

  • Prepare reports for sponsors to recap their paid events, including photos, video, behavioral and TV ratings, attendance and participation metrics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in sales, contract management, event management preferred;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and sales presentation skills;
  • Excellent customer service and problem solving skills;
  • Ideal candidate will be a details-minded, energetic self-starter ;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer) required;
  • Experience with Salesforce software a plus;
  • Ability to network with a proven track record of successful sales results;
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working to meet deadlines;
  • Strong ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors both within and across departments;
  • Ability to complete basic contract invoices, templates and outlines;
  • Consistent, punctual and regular attendance required;
  • Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees and may include exposure to weather conditions including extreme temperatures;
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 35 pounds;
  • Must have a flexible schedule that allows for the possibility of working a combination of days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Event Coordinator – Morven Park Marketing & Development Office
Full-time, non-exempt position
Reports to the Director of Advancement
Start date: Jan 2017
Salary range: $35-$40k

  • Responsible for fulfillment and organization of all contractual obligations stipulated in rental and sponsorship agreements ensuring adherence to contract provisions;
  • Responsible for planning/execution of special events, including all day-of site prep and management;
  • Receive and route incoming mail, phone, and e-mail requests, responding when appropriate and will act as a contact responding and fulfilling any request made by renters, vendors, sponsors;
  • Maintain records for all sponsor and event activities, tasks and accomplishments;
  • Assist Marketing Department and Sales Manager with assembling packages and presentations for Morven Park clients;
  • May be asked to join staff in meetings with vendors, renters, corporate partners;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in site or event management REQUIRED;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer) required;
  • Experience with Salesforce software a plus;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required;
  • Must have the ability to appropriately handle challenging situations and coordinate large groups of people with customer service in mind;
  • Must present self in a professional manner to interact with clients, corporate partners and park visitors;
  • Ideal candidate will be a details-minded, energetic self-starter;
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working to meet deadlines;
  • Strong ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors both within and across departments;
