Oakland
Wagon
The
Oakland Wagon is a lightweight carriage used in the early 1900's
by wealthy driver to show off their fancy horses. The wagon
has a cut-under to enable the carriage to make sharp turns and
rub irons on the reach to prevent the front wheels from damaging
the vehicle. The wheels have metal tires for country driving.
A small jump seat in the back folds away when not in use. The
carriage has shafts for use with a single horse.
The Oakland Wagon in the Winmill Collection is classified as
museum quality and is scheduled for CONSERVATION in the near
future.
