Winter at a Civil War Camp
Soldier Reenactment at Morven Park

November 5, 2010 - LEESBURG, VA – On November 20 and 21, Morven Park will re-create Civil War camp life during the winter of 1861/1862.  At this time members of the 17th Mississippi Regiment, took up residence in the woods at Morven Park just months after their fight at the nearby battle at Ball’s Bluff.  The event will feature firing demonstrations, drilling, camp cooking, and portrayals of everyday camp life.  Drilling and firing demonstrations will be held at 11:30, 1:30 pm, and 3:00 pm.

ACCLAIMED SHOW JUMPING COACH TO CONDUCT HORSEMANSHIP CLINIC AT THE MORVEN PARK EQUESTRIAN CENTER

September 15, 2010 - LEESBURG, LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA (September 16, 2010) –George Morris, noted as the United State’s leading expert in show jumping, will be bringing his experience and knowledge of the sport to the Indoor Ring at the Morven Park Equestrian Center (MPEC) October 19-21 from 9am-4:30pm. The MPEC is located at 47193 Tutt Lane in Leesburg, VA 20176. Riders and auditors are welcome and stabling is available.
