Why does Morven Park need to raise money?
Operated by the Westmoreland Davis Memorial Foundation, Morven Park is available for you 362 days a year, thanks to the generosity of Marguerite Davis. Following the death of her husband, Governor Westmoreland Davis, she established a trust to keep this treasured site open to the public. The trust has accomplished exactly that … keeping it open. But we still must raise over $1 million each year through the Annual Fund.
What does the Annual Fund do?
Your gift to the Annual Fund helps us to provide outstanding programs to our community and keep Morven Park’s historic buildings in good repair, and provide a home for organizations who call our 1,000 acres home, including Loudoun Therapeutic Riding, Loudoun Hunt Pony Club, Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy, and the North American Museum of Hounds and Hunting.
Tax-deductible gifts to the Annual Fund from people like you are what allow everything else to happen … from blazing hiking trails and hosting family events to providing land for aspiring farmers, from conservation of priceless 16th century tapestries to free equine health seminars for area horse owners, these programs are made possible by gifts to the Annual Fund.
May I make a restricted gift?
Unrestricted gifts allow Morven Park to use your gift in the area of greatest need, but restricted gifts to special interests are also welcome. Restricted gifts may be made to the Davis Mansion, Equestrian Center, Athletics Complex, Gardens, or fund a particular object or structure in need of restoration at Morven Park.
