Morven Park is looking for help
in the following areas:

Scribes, Scorers, Runners
Ring Stewards, Stable Office
and Show Office Help

for upcoming horse events.

Scribe
A SCRIBE records all the judge's scores and comments for each ride. In addition, the scribe examines the folders for each class to make sure the correct tests for the class to be judged are included. As each horse and rider passes the judge, prior to entering the ring, the bridle number must be checked to ensure correct assignment of rides to be tested. Handwriting must be legible and familiarity with accepted abbreviations is a must. One scribe is needed per judge, each day. A full day commitment is preferred.

Scorer
A SCORER is responsible for adding up all the scores on each test and giving the totals to the person assigned for final calculations. We provide you with an electronic adding machine. A count of two or more people to score is desirable.

Runner
RUNNERS are the key to collecting the tests from the judges. Collection must occur every 2-3 rides, per ring, so scores can be posted as soon as possible. This is an easy job that takes no experience. You can even do this before or after your rides. We like to schedule at least three runners per day, so you can enjoy the show as you collect the scores from one or two rings.

Ring Stewards
RING STEWARDS are a great help to competitors! They help to have the riders ready to enter the ring on time and keep the next riders "on deck". Stewards advise riders in the warm up area of rider cancellations, and who is next. We provide you with a clipboard and a show schedule, which lists riders' numbers and times, for the ring you are assigned to. A tape measure and laminated chart of legal bits are included with the clipboard for your use if the Technical Delegate requests you to check bits and whips. The chart is used to compare the horse's bit to legal bits. Use the tape measure to measure bits from end to end.

Stable Office
Help in the stabling office is always needed. Prior experience is helpful but not necessary.

Show Office
Extra help in our show office is always needed. Prior show secretary experience is helpful.
