Morven Park’s Center for Civic Impact and Loudoun County’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services will host a retreat for high school students interested in making a lasting impact on their communities.
The Youth Leadership Retreat, Aug. 11-13, from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. each day, takes place at Morven Park and is free to participants.
Both Morven Park and the County’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Service are known for their youth programs that build leadership skills and inspire active citizenship; Morven Park through its Center for Civic Impact and Loudoun County through its Loudoun Youth Initiative programs.
The retreat will encourage participants to develop strategies for tackling public issues, to work with others to spark new advocacy ideas, and to create their own “impact plans.” For more information, contact Amanda Ostrander, Loudoun County PRCS Youth Initiative Specialist, at firstname.lastname@example.org; or Abby Pfisterer, Morven Park Director of Civic Programming at email@example.com.
