A Note From Our Equestrian Events Manager

This year will be a busy year at the Morven Park International Equestrian Center, and I'm so pleased with the activities we have planned for 2017. We will host:

7 Hunter/Jumper shows, including the iconic AA Middleburg Classic Horse Show
9 Dressage Shows (hosted by VADA NOVA, CDCTA & PVDA), where you can watch riders and horses perform the equivalent of equine ballet
Individual rider activities and training occurring nearly every day of the year
Pony Club Show Jump Rally
2 Carriage Driving competitions (Recognized Arena Driving Trial & Carriage Pleasure Show)
3 Horse Trials (2 National & 1 International/CIC 3* with Olympic caliber horses and riders) where riders participate in "equestrian triathlon."

In addition to the show schedule already on the calendar, we are working on plans to add Arena Polo this summer. Get those picnic baskets & blankets ready, and bring the kids for some good family fun!

The Morven Park International Equestrian Center is scheduled for a major overhaul in 2017, beginning with the construction of three new outdoor riding arenas. Thanks to a very generous donation, our current Davis and Bedford arenas are undergoing a complete makeover, with new footing and fencing to be installed over the next two months. We'll be launching a new Equestrian membership program that will expand trail riding opportunities to Morven Park donors.

Morven Park welcomes over 300 volunteers each year who are critical to the success of our events. Volunteering is an excellent way to learn more about equestrian competitions and become a valuable part of Loudoun's equestrian community. All who are interested are welcome, and no experience is necessary for many of the jobs.

Even if you don't ride or compete, we invite you to come and watch Olympic horses and riders up close and personal as they navigate the cross country course obstacles at top speed, or be transported back to the 1800s as horses and carriages compete in the elegant Carriage Pleasure Show. We look forward to seeing you in 2017 and sharing these experiences with you. Be sure to check out the calendar of events on the website ( for a comprehensive list of activities.

See you at the Park!
