As our nation marks its 250th anniversary, Morven Park is proud to serve as a place where the echoes of the past meet the promise of the future. Celebrating this milestone at Morven Park honors not only the founding of the United States, but also the enduring civic and cultural legacy preserved here.
To practice the skill of community participation that has shaped our nation over two and a half centuries, The Morven Park Center for Civic Impact invites individuals 13–28 to participate in the Balancing Act lesson on June 23, 2026. Using LEGO Bricks, you and a team will act as County Commissioners, working together to balance a range of community interests and ideas. Taking into consideration zoning, taxes, and citizen input, you will experience how county government collaborates with community members when making decisions concerning their shared future.
Lessons are open to individuals between the ages of 13–28 years old. If you are under 18, please include your school and a parent/guardian’s contact information. The lesson will take place on Tuesday, June 23, 1:00–3:00 p.m. at Morven Park’s Coach House Complex.
